Day 19 – Prayer Focus – “Kingdom Priorities”
Matthew 6:33-34 – “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
There is a rebellious nature inside of us that insists on having things our way. God knows that we do not have the capability to direct our own steps. The Prophet Jeremiah said in 10:23 – “O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.” We need God’s help!
When we become followers of Jesus Christ, we enter into the Kingdom of God. We are born again by the spirit and become citizens of His Spiritual Kingdom (John 3:6). We are in this world but we are not of this world. We are citizens of God’s Heavenly Kingdom in which we have both privileges and responsibilities. We come under the government of God and we echo the words of Jesus, “not my will but thine be done.”
Our prayer focus today is to get our priorities aligned with the Kingdom of God.
Read 1 Kings 3 – Solomon put God first and God gave him everything he needed.
